Sorry my posts have been so sparse lately. I have been pretty much glued to Facebook. It's quite addicting. I have 43 friends! I know many people have hundreds more, but a lot of my friends don't have an account. But they will soon; I will make them!!
I have some freakin' amazing news right now. Remember how I was all stressed about not making it into 8 Honors? Well....I did!!! I got the acceptance letter today! OMFG. I was totally freaking out. It was like a huge weight got lifted off my shoulders. But not to worry, it will be dropped right back on once school starts in the form of homework. *sigh* But no time for moping now! I am in the top 90 of my class of around 450 at the 36th best high school in the nation! Even with my 'C' in Algebra. Wow. I feel like jumping around. Oh wait, I already did that.
If you are interested, here is a few of my favorite and least favorite bits of the letter: "Walnut Hills High School is pleased to invite your child into the Eighth Drage Honors Program for the 2009-2010 school year." (This is about where the jumping started.) "An examination of previous grades in academic courses(this probably helped me a lot), teacher reccommendations (my english, science, history, and latin teachers all liked me), and test information (I generally do well on the OATs) has determined that your child is qualified to participate in this accelerated program." ....responsibilites: (1) increased homework (NOOOO!)to enable students to cover demanding curriculum; (2) fees to cover the cost of supplemental materials and feild trips (YAY!); (3) superior grade performance in all subjects (translation: do well in Geometry or you out, fool!); (4) developement of research skills (watev that means) and (5) completion of additional summer assignments (rats...).
These past few days have been crazy. My grandpa's lady friend who lived with him passed away on the 7th. She didn't write out her will, but she had expressed to my grandpa that she wanted to be cremated. So to progress any farther, our family had to contact her daughter, whom she has not spoken to in years. We haven't known when the funeral is or what the plans were. We could pretty much have left on a moments notice. But I think my dad realized that according to common law, living together for as long as Bev and his dad did, they were legally considered a couple. So my grandpa could inherit the trailer and they could make decisions for her. I don't really know the details, but I do now know that we are leaving for Flo Rida on either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Not Monday, though, because.....
Monday is my party!!!! OMG. I am so excited. I'm having a cotton candy machine, fun movies, yummy pink food, and hopefully lots, lots more. I just need to plan it. So ima get to that, and let you get back to your regular lives. Carry on!
You know you love me Margo,
